Brown Sugar Challenge #97 - Bookmark

Welcome to my blog, please stay and have a little look through my posts.

Its Friday and it means its time for another challenge from

Our theme this week is BOOKMARK

Here is my project for this challenge

The materials I used to make this are
1mm gold wire
jump rings
beads
shrink plastic digital image from our sponsors

To make the book mark I took a piece of wire and bent it over my fingers to make the hook to go over the edge and with the longer lenght I hammer it to flatten and this will also strengthen the wire.  At the short end of the wire I made a small loop at the end and attached a few jump rings and attached the beads into one of the jump rings.  I printed the image onto shrink plastic and coloured it in with my promarkers and used my heat gun to shrink it down.

I always maintain that if I had any sort of brain in my head I would be dangerous, lol.  If I was to admit my mistakes I had a card (see below) made with this image to start with,  When I was posting it onto the design team blog I realised that it should have been a bookmark I could have kicked myself, lol.  And I also have to admit that  this is my second book mark I have made for this post.  I had another one made and photographed ready to submit when I realised that it wasn't the right image let alone from the right sponsor, so I had to remake it again.

25th Anniversary Card

Hi everyone thank you for looking at my blog.

This is a card in which I made for my brother and his wife for their 25th Wedding Anniversary.  The colour scheme is Silver and white with a few pearls and gems.

I cut the sentiment and number with my cricut and I also used some of my spellbinders dies.

The flowers and leaves are also are Spellbinders with faux pearls for the centres and some bling ribbon.

It was well received and my sister-in-law loved it and that was my aim.

Live every moment

Hello everyone

My blog post today is well out of my comfort zone I think but I must say I enjoyed doing it.

I had an old cardboard box lying in my room so I cut it up and put it away thinking that I would use it, well I pulled it out again and turn it into what I think is not a bad effort.  I watch some videos on a few friends and think if only I could do that.

In my project I used my free stamps from Indigo Blu which I got from a magazine I had bought, some archival black ink, misting inks and some gesso.

I have decided to enter this into the

Indigo Blu Challenge

Sock Hop Sweetie Friday

Hi everyone
and welcome to my blog

Well its that Friday and my first week of my new job is nearly over, I can safely say I did enjoy it but a little tired.

Here is my card project of this weeks challenge over at

The Theme this week was - Pastel Colours

The card shape is made out of one sheet of A4 white card and made into a kind of stepper card.
This image I used for this was Sock Hop Sweetie My Besties available from our Sponsors below.  I coloured it in with my promarkers and cut it out with a Spellbinders Grand Decorative Oval and went round the edge of the die with a ink spot that I had in my stash, it was a nice light lilac colour.  I them made a faux oval by drawing round the inside of the next size and cut it out with my scissors.  I apologies I do not know the name of the paper design as I have it made years in my stash, I backed it with pink glitter card.  The border strips were cut from lilac card from my stash and the pink ribbon strips are from Red Hot Bed.  A company that appeared on Create and Craft years ago, demonstrator was Michelle Marsden at that time.  Clear gems were put into the middle of the little flowers.  The flowers I used on the front of the card were a mixture from Prima, Wild Orchard Crafts and artificial flowers I bought and took apart.  I used dew drops and flat backed pearls for the centres of the flowers.

The the fur collar of the images dress I put some glitter on it as well as her ear-rings and I used a Spellbinder die to cut the image out and backed onto red card.  The pattern paper is from a set of papers I received free with a magazine from a designer range called Damask Rose.

The flowers and leaves are from Wild Orchid Crafts trimmed with stickles glitter glue.  The bling ribbon is mounted onto a red ribbon which is from Stampin Up, this is then mounted on some white glitter card mounted onto red card.

My Besties Challenge - Card 2

Hi all

Here is my second entry for the

I have another neices who's birthday is in June so I will keep this one for her. The paper I used on this card is also from a set of free papers by Jennifer Ellory which I received with a magazine.

The top photo looks as if its just an ordinary card but as you can see from the above picture it is a easal card.  Again I used one of Sherri's Image but this one is one of her latest with you can get on her etsy store HERE or website store HERE.

The flowers and leaves I have used are from Wild Orchard Crafts and the Bling swirls are out of my stash.  The lace ribbon I got off Ebay sorry I can remember the details of the seller.  The pink card is embossed with swiss dots embossing folder.

This image can be purchased HERE,  I coloured this image with my promarkers and backed it on blue card.

The little butterfly and bling ribbon was from my stash.   I stamped the sentiment in pink ink onto white card and cut it out with a spellbinder labels die, also cut it out in pink and blue card stock.

My Besties UK Challenge - Card 1

Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog.

Now that everything is back to normal or as normal as it can be in our house with everyone back to work and school, I thought I would take time out and blog some cards (in separate posts) I made for a Challenge and DT call over on

I am hoping this will do my niece for her birthday at the end of May, I cant believe she is coming 20.  The years are just flying by too darn quick.

This image is from My Bestie by Sherri Baldy, her images are gorgeous and you will find the HERE in her etsy shop and also HERE on her website.  It was coloured in with my promarkers and the papers where from a freebie set out of a magazine by Jennifer Ellory - Floral Papers.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the pearl spirals are from Creative Expressions.  I used an embossing board on the blue card swiss dots and I also used a spellbinders die to cut the fancy lattice behind the blue card, the pink card stock is out of my stash.
