Meet Allistair the Alligator

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by my blog.

Over at Brown Sugar we have a new challenge starting today.

Theme: Spring

So here is my card for this week

Say hello to Allistair the Alligator, he is a digi image from our sponsors this week, (details below).  He is coloured with Steadtler and Crayola pencils and blended with Spectrum Noir blending solution.  He is cut out using Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics B, and if you can see from the photo I cut around the end of his tail and slipped the die undersneath so its hanging of the page, then I matted it onto a distress yellow patterened paper and olive green cadstock.

My background is done using the same distress yellow paper with a co ordinating patterened paper from the same stack.  the harlaquin was cut using the sizzix thinlets mixed media dies.  The both of these are then layered on the olive green card stock.  Finishing off with three black gems on two of the opposite corners.

Items used
Patterned paper - My minds Eye - Complete Boy 2009 collection by Jen Wilson
Olive green card stock
Black gems by Great Expressions from The Works
Sizzix thinlets mixed media dies by Tim Holtz
Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics B
Steadtler and Crayola coloured pencils

Happy Easter

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by my blog.

Over at Brown Sugar we have a new challenge starting today.

Theme: Spring

So here is my card for this week

The card base is 8 x 4.5" and is white card stock.  I cut the front of the card away leaving about 1/2" at the top to attach the acetate too.  I cut two strips of the patterned paper from the stack and used a Martha Stewart border punch - doily lace and the seep edge border punch - Eyelet lace.

The sentiment was made using a Alphabet Die set from Quickutz (apologies but I don't remember which one).  The card stock was white coloured with distress ink "Victorian Velvet")

The flowers are cherry blossoms from Wild Orchard Crafts and the leaves were cut from green patterned paper using Spellbinders little leaf set

The photo above shows up close how the acetate sits nicely on the front of the card and i have mirrored the back of the acetate with the front with patterned paper.  The insert of the card is out of the same patterned paper and when it is going to be sent out I will insert a verse.

I coloured my image with Crayola Coloured pencils and layered onto a die from Sizzix Circles and Spellbinders Lacy Circles.
