#83 Brown Sugar Challenge

Happy Friday Everyone.

Oh my its Friday again and its time for another brown sugar challenge.  I do believe my time is going faster as I get older.

Here is my Card for our sponsors.

Here is a list of items I used to make this project.

Paper collection is from a free give I got with a magazine from the Nitwits Collection and you wouldn't think its from a christmas collection.  The Brown card stock is embossed with an Indentz lines and dots and the blue card stock is embossed with an m-bossability kickin' rubber and both card is from my stash. I used my promarkers to colour in the images - colours cocoa, shale, light grey, blush, coral, satin and also antique linen and cadet blue from my flexi collection of pens.  i also used some card candy but I didn't have any the colour I needed so I used my promarkers to change the colour from white to the colour on card.  The scallop circle is done by using a punch from stampin up and the sentiment  is from the circle sentiments from Lily of the Valley.  The strip across the bottom is a strip of paper with a brown ribbon on top from again stampin up.

I really enjoyed working with this image from our sponsors
so please nip across and have a look of all the great digi images.

#81 Brown Sugar Challenge

Happy Valentine everyone.

What can I say were at the time of the week for another challenge from

Brown Sugar

Theme - Use a Die Cut or Punch

On my card project this week I used a white blank card with red card stock from Core'dinations - Roy G. Biv using a A4 embossing folder from Sue Wilson collection Cascading Hearts and lightly sanded it back.  The image - Vase of Hearts is from our sponsors below and coloured in with my promarkers.  I used Spellbinders labels 28 to die cut the image out and I also used Heartfelt Creations Dies Raindrops on Roses HCD743 on either side of the image and the corners as well.  Also on the image if you can see I punched out little hearts from red mirror card and stuck them over some of the hearts using little foam pads.  The sentiment I done on my computer in word and printed it out.

#79 Brown Sugar Challenge

Happy Friday everyone.

What can I say were at the time of the week for another challenge from

Brown Sugar

Theme - Feathers

This is a easel shaped card using blue and black card from my stash.

In this challenge I used an image from our sponsors and coloured it in with my promarkers.

I got myself some new dies from tonic that was launch on the c&c world launch shows a couple of weeks ago and this one you can see in the picture above is the Regal Circle Doily.  I cut is in the blue card and then cut it in the black card and used some cosmic shimmer gilding wax around the edge of the doily.  I'm still not 100% sure that I actually like this gilding wax but it does have a nice smell.  I used some feathers from my stash and the little dazzler is from Wild Orchid Crafts.

At the back of the topper there is a black lacy ribbon going across, this is made from a tonic punch called Regal Border which matches the doily.  I cut out two strips and cut them down with scissors stuck them back to back and then place a very thin strip of the blue card onto it and some clear gems.  The stopper bar across the bottom of the card to keep the easel up is again a strip of black card with a strip of blue card threaded into a little buckle from a die set called Ribbon buckles from Spellbinders.  Again it has the silver gilding wax rubbed over it to make it stand out a little.  The sentiment is from a set of stamps I got free in a magazine and is stamped with black archival ink on a white card and I went round the edge with Salty Ocean Distress Ink.  The punch dies used are from Stampin Up - Scallop Oval and the Large Oval.

Pringle Storage

Hi everyone

I promised to myself in 2014 to do more crafting and also more blogging on various things and also on the things I make.  I was watching a stream by Jean (The Musical Scrapper) on Saturday night she was doing her streamathon video update on her desk calender/organiser and I decided to start on my storage for my pens and things.

I always buy my kids Pringles for their Christmas stockings (including big kid hubby) and I told them to save me the tubs.

I wash and dried them out and then cut them to the size I wanted the containers to be.

I covered them with papers from my stash (apologies don't know the brand).

I attached some hessian ribbon around the top and overlapped the edge to cover up my rough cutting and then attached cream vintage over the top.  I had some string cream pearl strand so I then attached them on top of the lace.  I used hot glue and glued them together once I had them placed where  I wanted them.  I attached a last minute container at the front of it to store my tweezers

and here is my finished project with all my tools in it.  I must admit I am pleased the way it turned out and it has pride of place on my desk.

Name Change

Hi everyone

Well Christmas is over and the new year just around the corner.  I have been doing a little crafting but not much as I would like to maybe because having no me time just family time.

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and Santa was good to everyone, I must say he was good to me this year and got more than i probably deserved, I got a new laptop, CD, pj's and an Ebosser.  So I was more than happy.

Now you probably have noticed that I have changed my blog name and have been thinking of doing this for a while. Although it was a catchy name and I liked it, I wanted to put my name in it, so please tell me what you think whether you like the old name - Flossy's paper palace better or the new name.

I am hoping to blog a little more of my crafting makes, adding photos of random things, some of which may not relate to paper crafting.

Right thats enough of me jibbering, and say to all my crafty friends and family is to wish everyone a

Happy New Year and hope 2014 is everything you wished for.

Our theme is week is -Anything Goes

What I used

Image is from our sponsors, printed off in black ink and I went round the edge with antique linen distress ink to give is a sepia look and used labels one spellbinders die to cut it out.  The paper is from a 6 x 6 card stock pad black and cream from Canvas Corp, Home Basics is what it says in front of it, I have the same pad in kraft and black as well.  The base is Kraft card stock and I also used little black gems from Creative Expressions.  The bow is made out of the scraps of the card with a little stamp image.
