Brown Sugar Challenge #43

It's Friday again and it time for a new challenge from Brown Sugar Challenge Blog.

With my coursework finished now I have actually made this card with no deadline pressures and it felt good. I have to confess and say that I have enrolled in another course starting in September so I will enjoy the freedom for a few months.

The challenge today is

Father's Day

Here is my card

The size of this card is 5" x 5" and the base colour is black.  I used a cuttlebug embossing
folder on red co-ordinations card stock and sanded it back.  My image (28301 - river walk) is from
Eurekas Digi Stamps and is coloured in with promarkers.  I made the black frame
with black utee using one of Martha Stewart moulds.  I have to thank Hels Sheridan
for my melt pot to resurface from the back of the cupboard.

Brown Sugar Challenge #41 - Angels and Fairies

Apologies everyone thought this blog post was up and running but I put in the wrong date.

Oh my goodness where has this week gone, I seem to be meeting myself this week, but hey ho.

Here is my card for this weeks challenge.

The challenge this week is

Angels and Fairies

On this card I used some paper I had in my stash and I coloured
the image which is from Digi Darlas - baby angel with my promarkers.  I
Cut round the little image and mounted it with foam pads to a
matted and layered square of  yellow, white and gold mirror card.

Brown Sugar Challenge #39

Hi Everyone

We have eventually got our bathroom finished after about 3 weeks fitting and unfitting toilets due to them leaking. We have now the expense of a new front door at the present one has cracked with the sun and is leaking water into the hall not so good for a new carpet which thankfully isn't fitted yet.  Right less of me wittering on and more about the challenge.

I have one card for my challenge this week for Brown Sugar Challenge.

Today is the start of a new challenge and the theme is

"Bunnies"

On this card I used a image from QKR Stampede (link below) and
coloured it with Promarkers.  The paper is from a paper pack which has
been in my stash for a while its called Papermania For Him and some orange card.

Brown Sugar #37 Challenge

Hi Everyone

Its been a little hectic for me this fortnight with workmen in the house, kids off and trying to get caught up on coursework I didn't get much time to craft.

Now Easter is over and kids are back to school even my big kid is back to work, so hopefully back to normality or as near as where my household is concerned.  Now down to what playing I was able to get done.

I have two cards for my challenges this week for Brown Sugar Challenges

1st Card

#37 Easel Box Card

This is a little bit  more than just a card, it can be used to put a wee prezzie in as well.  I have made an easel card and attached it onto a little handmade drawer box.

The size of the drawer box is about 6" square
and the card is about 5 3/4" square.

I have used a digital image - Scene It - Easter

 from our sponsor

I have used papers from
Papermania Colossal Paper Pack - Easter Themes which has been
in my stash for a little while.  Diecuts using spellbinders
and a piece of hessian ribbon, a little crotchet flower and centre both handmade by myself.
Lastly a few blingy gems.

You could use this afterwards to store jewellery, bling or just set it on your craft desk for storage.

Thank you for dropping by and be sure to stop and check out
and see the cards from the rest of the design team.

News to share

I entered for a Design Team at Brown Sugar Challenge Bog and to my amazement I got picked.  I am a bit nervous as I never done anything like this and I don't want to mess it up.  This is way out of my comfort zone but I am looking forward to the challenge.

So if you have a few minutes run on over and check out their blog and have a go at some of the challenges.

The Ribbon Girls Colour Challenge

Happy Birthday - upbeat style

I thought I would enter this card for the colour challenge on The Ribbon Girl Blog using the colours green and white, run on over to see their blog and online store.

This card I made for my nephew's birthday.  Its made using some distress inks, ribbon, buttons.  I used background stamps from Creative Expressions - newsprint, bubble wrap, urban beats, urban life by Sam Poole and spellbinders labels 25.

Mother's Day

 Brown Sugar Design Team Call

I thought I would try out for a design team call from brownsugarchallenge.blogspot.co.uk, the deadline in the 25th March.  This is a great blog to visit for challenges and ideas.

This is a picture of the card I made for my mum for Mother's Day, she just loved it and believe it or not it is still sitting on the mantle piece.

I folded a piece of cream card to the size of 5 ¾ x 7 ¼.  The red card is a piece of core color from coredinations and I embossed it with garden lattice and sanded it down using my sand it tool and I used my distress tool around the edges.   I cut another piece of cream card stock 4 x 61/4 and also die cut from decorative rectangles, stamped it with classic rose from stampendous, coloured it in and attached it to the cream card stock.  I embellished it with a piece of lace, a few paper flowers, adhesive pearls and pearl swirls.  I stamped a sentiment image onto kraft card stock and die cut it with lacey circles.
